Harmful and potentially harmful constituents (HPHC) are a subset of tobacco product constituents which may cause direct and indirect harm to product users. HPHCs are chemicals or chemical compounds in tobacco products, tobacco smoke, or aerosol that cause or could cause harm to users or nonusers.
