Notice boxes

When content in this document has a particular purpose or function, it is called out into one of four types of notice boxes:

  • Info boxes contain helpful notes or additional information about the standard itself, its content, or the processes and decisions behind the advice it contains. An info box might contain the document's metadata, or a more detailed explanation of a column heading whose meaning might be open to misinterpretation, or the reasoning behind a particular modeling decision.
  • Tip boxes contain suggestions that the reader may find helpful to do before continuing to read the document further, such as reviewing a relatively new or anticipated standard before reading an example in which it is used.
  • Caution boxes contain notices, reminders, and precautionary advice.
  • Alert boxes contain information that it is especially important to note, and remember, while reading and/or implementing the standard.
