CDISC Wiki has been struggling with performance issues in the new year. We have looked at several factors around the events that caused the recent outages, and we have found that the PDF export tool puts an extreme burden on the server resources. This tool is also available to the public which creates even more problems as they could run multiple exports simultaneously causing a hard failure of the server.
CDISC IT has come to the decision to disable the PDF Export tool. Wiki will continue to provide export to Word which provides the needed output for publication team and allows the ability to print out pages from the Wiki if needed for reading offline. We will be planning the change next week as it will require a restart of the server.
If you or your team has any objections to this change, please let me know ASAP and we will discuss with you directly to see if there is a workaround or consider postponing this plan based on impact to you.
