Global longitudinal strain (GLS) and global circumferential strain (GCS) are used in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) to assess and track cardiac function. SMEs- add textAbnormal circumferential strain can be detected early in patients with DMD, despite the presence of normal ejection fraction.[9] Regular cardiac function evaluations can lead to timely treatment which may slow the progression of cardiac fibrosis.[10]
