Global longitudinal strain (GLS) and global circumferential strain (GCS) are used in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) to assess and track cardiac function.Abnormal circumferential strain can be detected early in patients with DMD, despite the presence of normal ejection fraction.[9] Regular cardiac function evaluations can lead to timely treatment which may slow the progression of cardiac fibrosis.[10]
