Synced viewing modes

There are two different viewing modes available for this document: compiled and sectioned. The sectioned view displays each section as its own page. The compiled view allows readers to read the entire document in a single page, but is locked against editing. This is because it draws all of its content from the by-section view. Any changes made in the content of the sectioned view will be mirrored in the compiled view upon refreshing the page.

Readers can choose whether to read standards developed on the Wiki as a single page or as a series of pages, split by section. Both options are available on the landing page for the document, and in the sidebar navigation for the space.

The cover page for a document may also serve as its compiled view, or a separate page may be designated solely for that purpose. In either case, readers who wish to read the document as a single unit can simply start at the top of the compiled view and read until the end; while readers who want to access the source page for the content (for instance, to help the JIRA Connector find the correct place to add a new issue), or who simply prefer to read one chunk at a time, can navigate among the individual sections as they choose.

There is no difference in content between these two viewing modes, because the compiled view is a mirror of the section-by-section view: content from the one is automatically reflected in the otherBecause the navigational links are included in the content of the pages in the sectioned view, readers of the compiled view who wish to edit a section can jump to that section within the by-section view by scrolling up to the heading of the section they wish to edit and clicking on the right-hand navigational link just above it. Alternately, readers can keep a separate window or tab open on the landing page and jump to the section by from the list provided there.
