The StudyStructure element describes the general structure of a clinical study with Arms, Epochs and StudyEventGroups. The StudyEventGroup represents the part Workflows. Arms, Epochs and Workflows can reference StudyEventGroups representing the parts of the study design that describes what happens in a particular epoch for a particular arm. In CDISC submission standards, it is named a "Study Cell". StudyEventGroups can be nested, so a CDISC submission "Element" (the basic building block in the trial design) will be represented by a "child" StudyEventGroup.
